OFSTED Report

OFSTED Report

In April 2026, we welcomed Ofsted into our school and are delighted to now share that we are expected standard in all areas.

We are incredibly proud that Ofsted recognised Lightcliffe as a place where “pupils feel safe and enjoy school” and where children “arrive… to a calm, cheerful and welcoming environment.”

The report reflects the culture we have built together, with inspectors noting that pupils are “courteous, polite, respectful and curious” and that “behaviour is positive” with “a calm atmosphere” across the school.

We are particularly pleased that Ofsted highlighted the strength of our curriculum, recognising that it is “carefully-designed” and enables pupils to “talk enthusiastically about their learning and recall key facts", reflecting our commitment to ensuring every child develops the knowledge, confidence and curiosity to succeed.

Most importantly, we are delighted that inspectors recognised that our vision is truly lived out each day, stating that “the school’s values of ‘inspiring and flourishing together’ are evident throughout pupils’ experiences.” This is at the heart of everything we do – creating a community where every child is supported, inspired and enabled to flourish.

While we celebrate this recognition, we remain committed to continuous improvement. We will continue to reflect carefully on the feedback provided and build on our strengths so that every child at Lightcliffe can continue to inspire and flourish together.

This positive report is a testament to the dedication of our whole school family – pupils, staff, parents, governors and the wider community – all working together to create the very best environment for our children.
