PFSA

Welcome to the PFSA!

Lightcliffe Parents, Friends and Staff Association is an enthusiastic group who are always looking for new members. Our aim is to raise funds to enhance the curriculum through our various fundraising activities, as well as to foster deeper ties with all school staff.

Here is a rough idea of what we get up to through the year. We meet once every half term, currently on a Monday evening in the school staff room at 7pm, to plan and organise our fundraising activities. Our main event is the Christmas fair. There are also many other things that take place during the year such as discos, film nights, quiz nights, Easter Egg Hunts, a magician and a pre-loved uniform shop, to name just a few.

So if you would like to become involved, we would love to welcome you, whatever time you have spare.

Can you answer yes to any of the following:

  • I am interested in my child’s schooling
  • I can bake cakes and cookies
  • I can make a cuppa
  • I can wrap gifts
  • I can help for an hour or so at school fairs
  • I can collect items from shops
  • I don’t want to be solely responsible for a task
  • I don’t want to be tied down to meetings every week or month
  • I do want to attend informal meetings when I can, with tea/coffee
  • I am ok at making notes
  • I can email
  • I would like to meet new people
  • I don’t want a big commitment and may only be able to offer an hour here and there

We would love to have more people to help out, no matter how often. The more people we have, the easier our role is. You can email us (please see below) or pass on a message via the school office.

Many thanks in advance,

Your PFSA

Fundraising

Easyfundraising, Your School Lottery and the Pre-loved Uniform Shop are PFSA fundraising initiatives, which run all year round.

Pre-loved Uniform

If you have any old uniform items in good condition, e.g., Green Jumpers/Cardigans with school crest, summer dresses, or PE uniform then please donate them to us. Just drop them in the drop box outside the school office and we will add them to our existing stocks. (PLEASE AVOID DONATING GREY, WHITE ITEMS AND NON-CRESTED KNITWEAR)

Stock is available to everyone, so if you are in need of a spare jumper or PE top, then please complete the forms order sheet found here

If we have the items you need we will then liaise with you to arrange collection and then all we ask is that parents and carers check items for suitability, wash them before use and then ‘donate as they feel’ details on how to make a donation are on the forms sheet above. If you have any issues send us a message to the PFSA via Facebook group www.facebook.com/groups/pfsalightcliffe or drop us an email to lightcliffepfsa@gmail.com and we’ll see what we can do to help. We’ve raised more than £150 in the 20/21 academic year and every little bit really does help!
